About
Hello, thank you for dropping by.
I am an illustrator and author of children's books living and working by the sea in Dublin.
I studied fine art at IADT. Since graduating I have worked in various creative fields, gradually leaning towards illustration especially picturebooks.
I enjoy the whole process. Particularly making early rough sketches, developing character, exploring the page turn, textures, colour and composition.
I am inspired a lot by the natural world. I use gouache and watercolour paints, chalk and oil pastels, many kinds of pencil, some inks, and bits of the computer too.
I love to bring fun and interactive story and art events to schools, libraries and festivals.
Some favourite things - old silent films, monster music, an endless supply of mint chocolate, trees in the wind, dogs in the snow, and birds just being birds.
