Where Are You, Puffling?
A curious little puffling lives on Skellig Michael.
But her puffin parents can't find her in their burrow.
Where could she be?
Luckily, all the Skellig animals and birds are there to help.
This wonderful story has been retold by Erika McGann from a story my uncle Sean wrote after a trip to Skellig Michael.
I've illustrated it with gouache paints, pencil and pastels.
'Cá Bhfuil Puifín Beag?' an Irish language translation, is also published by O'Brien Press.
A special edition was published for World Book Day 2020 becoming a bestseller.
In the UK the National Trust celebrated World Book Day with a Puffling Children's Trail!
Colouring in PDFs are available to download here.
There are some step by step drawing videos here of Puffling, a puffin, a whale and a rabbit. Plus a reading of the book.
You can read an Irish Times article here about the story behind 'Where Are You, Puffling?'.
There's more here including some early layouts and character studies.
Upcoming visits to bookshops, schools, libraries and festivals are listed on my events page.
And just below, you can see me talking more about how the book came about. Thank you to the Greystones Guide.
